Congratulations radKIDS Graduates!

March 9th was the last day of our Feb/March radKIDS course and we would like to congratulate our recent graduates! We are so proud of you for how well you did in simulation with Mr. Al! We have received some pictures from our Cupcake Mom, Gloria and we'll send you each one for your memories.

What is radKIDS?

radKIDS is the national leader in children's safety, with headquarters based in South Dennis, Massachussetts. radKIDS is brought to children and parents by the training and development of nationally certified instructors drawn from their own communities.

By empowering a community with certified local instructors, the radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education package is not just a program but a true gift to the community.
radKIDS Curriculum topics include:

~Home, School and Vehicle Safety
~Out and About Safety
~Realistic Defense Against Abduction
~Good-Bad-Uncomfortable Touch
~Stranger Tricks (including Physical Defense against abduction)
~Self-realization of personal power

Purpose: Since it's inception in 1998, radKIDS, Inc. has been committed to providing education that enhances the ability of children and parents to utilize knowledge, skills, and power to protect themselves from violence and harm.

Making a Difference: radKIDS strengthens family, encourages physical fitness, and teaches core safety values to live by through its program. Fun, activity-based programs include lecture, safety drills, muscle memory exercises and dynamic simulation. radKIDS community based programs have been offered as after school programs, day camps, recreation programs, as well as through scouting and religious youth groups.

~125,000 children have been trained in the radKIDS personal Empowerment Safety education program.

~than 2500 community based instructors have been trained in over 45 states and Canada.

~39 children threatened with abduction used their skills and returned safely to their families.

~Hundreds of children spoke up and got the help they needed to stop the abuse.

Through radKIDS training, children become empowered and learn to replace the fear, confusion, and panic or dangerous situations with confidence, personal safety skills, and self-esteem.

Congratulations New radKIDS!

Congratulations to the new radKIDS graduates of our September/October 2007 session! Thank you parents for spending your Sundays with us for this past month, we truely appreciate your support of this program. Please feel free to give us any feedback on how to enhance the learning experience of your child. And please tell your friends and co-workers about radKIDS, we wish to pass this information along to as many children we can!
We look forward to seeing you again in a future session, because remember, your child may return to any radKIDS session for Free until their 13th Birthday! The schedule for practice sessions and for the full 10 hour program will be in each newsletter, and also check back on the blog for updates. Check the previous post for upcoming dates.

Chief CFC Instructor: Bruce

Raised in New York, Bruce began, at an early age, defending himself and his younger brother from the gangs that roamed their school, playground, and neighborhood. This experience led him to study various traditional martial arts like Judo, Aikido, Karate, Wing Chun and Tae Kwon do. Because of those early years, Bruce felt the need of helping children protect themselves from the dangers they face every day. As a Nationally Certified Childrens Safety Instructor, Bruce is able to provide this support through the radKIDS program.

Besides working with kids, Bruce is also a Certifited Personal Protection Instructor for adults. In 2000 Bruce was exposed to Krav Maga an Israeli form of self defense. He was so impressed with Krav Maga's reality of training that he became a certified Krav Maga instructor in California. Ever since, Bruce has been teaching various Krav Maga courses here in Tucson at the University of Arizona.

As a U.S. Marine with over 25 years of "Combat Arts" experience, Bruce has trained U.S. Marine, U.S. Army, and Foreign Military units in Combative Tactics. Bruce's passion is training his fellow American citizen in all aspects of self-defense. From teaching children to protect themselves from bullies and predators to empowering assault survivors in women's shelters, Bruce strives to increase his student's level of awareness, safety, and confidence through vigorous mental, emotional and physical regimens. His innovative conditioning drills shock many of his students into the reality of combat on the street. His no-nonsense approach to fighting and training hard has earned Bruce the respect from his dedicated students.

Although a Blackbelt, Bruce continues his own training as a student in the Elite Combat Arts of Kapap, Systema, and Kajukenbo. His research into the current tactics employed by thugs on the street and the fear that may affect a defender's performance has led to the development of the most comprehensive training system in Tucson, "Combat Fit". This innovative system incorporates practical combative sequencing, realistic personal protection tactics, simulated scenarios and functional movement drills, all designed to help the student understand what really happens during a street attack and what to do to survive it.
